Success means different things to different people We are all unique.

For some it’s surviving, for others its thriving….all with the fundamental goal of seeking inner happiness within our lives

Inevitably, I have dedicated the past 18 years of my life to finding out what makes successful people different and my conclusion is that there are four basic primary characteristics of success…and the good news is that these can be developed by anyone, either intentionally or subconsciously, to enable them to be different, to stand out and achieve.

So here are my 4 top secrets for success

1. Put The SPARKLE Back In Your Life

People who succeed have a high energy that they manage well. They put 100% into their work before finding a similar store for their family and friends. They seems to have a zest for life and a quality of energy that allows them to embrace fully life’s joys and challenges

What is very clear is that they manage stress really well minimising health issues recognising “time out” as an important part of their wellbeing.

It’s about quality recovery time and recognising when its time to re-boot

Think of an optimum athlete – they warm up to perform and demand the best from themselves, they use all their energy for peak performance and then they warm down into quality recovery time – a short deep sleep, involvement in a hobby family time etc..This time is vital to allow the athlete to reproduce his or best form the next day. The cycle is vital to re-boot. If you are constantly driving for peak performance you need to go through the same cycle as the management of stress is vital. But how do we reduce the build up of stress as we go through our day? you may ask. The answer lies within us, our thinking, our attitude

2. Develop a Positive Attitude

Everybody I meet who has succeeded is without doubt positive. They think about what they want, are optimistic, dynamic and solution orientated. They view problems as challenges and they don’t find excuses. They move forward continuously through thick and thin – it’s never an easy journey but they keep going. Failure to act means you cannot learn and grow.

Being positive enables you to overcome negative situations and move on. Recognising our own internal chatter and “self talk” is a vital component for success. By “self talk” I mean the conversations we have with ourselves, the dominant thoughts that pop up and create our reality. We are attracted sub-consciously to events and activities that reinforce these thoughts thus proving to ourselves that we are correct in what we are thinking. Think only of what you want, NOT what you do not want

Whatever we choose to think, we choose to have in our lives

Just imagine if you could re-programme your mind to automatically think positively and the impact this would have on your your personal and business life. Instead of “I can’t” “It’s impossible” think “I can” “I will”- Wouldn’t that be more effectivley

3. Break Free of Your Limiting Beliefs

Nobody has instant success. You need to strive, to keep pushing onward and upwards but it seems for many we have limiting beliefs about what we can achieve or influence. From a very early age our brains are programmed to take on the “baggage” from others. All our experiences, expectations from others, the praise, the failures, the comments are all packed in securely to reinforce how we show up and behave.

Let’s reflect on the athlete scenario – Roger Bannister broke the four minute mile which seemed to others as an impossibility, yet within a year over 100 others had achieved this goal. The belief was broken and stepping out of the comfort zone into new possibilities was the truth.

We are limited only by our thoughts and our comfort zone

The secret to success is to set powerful goals that you believe in. Limited beliefs and comfort zones will cause most people to neglect or mistrust this rule. The greatest gift in life is the ability to think great thoughts and to have the strength to take action. You need to know where you need to go in order to and reframe that thinking. Focus on a vision of what you want to achieve, make your commitment to that vision, plan out how you will get there and begin to take action.

4. Use Your Brain Differently

Limiting beliefs are like a fine mesh that seem to be right in front of our heads as we journey through life. The characteristics of our brain show that the right side handles different areas of mental activity. The right side draws on imagination, intuition, music, imagination and day dreaming at the unconscious level. The left side draws on logic, lists, linear, words, sequence, and analysis.

Are you right sided or left sided dominated?

Research shows that we are using a fraction of 1% of the capabilities that we have .

We are nowhere near fulfilling our potential.

Whilst we might assume that many of us are left brain dominated through the beliefs and values of our education system, we can be train our brains to exercise both. Why is this important? By working to develop and re-programme more of the right side together with managing your stress, becoming more positive and learning to set goals- you will sense a dramatic change in how you experience life with more creativity and solution focused ideas.

It takes dedication, a new way of thinking and a strong positive mindset for success. So let’s get going!

Congratulations

This is the start of your new adventure, of future possibilities and a life that will fill you with joy and be in control of
